Georgia O'Keeffe.
Curated by Tanya Barson, Curator, Tate Modern with Hannah Johnston, Assistant Curator, Tate Modern. The Toronto installation of Georgia O'Keeffe is led by the AGO's Georgiana Uhlyarik, Associate Curator, Canadian Art.
Opening in Toronto on April 22, Georgia O'Keeffe marks the first full retrospective of this pioneering American modernist to be shown in Canada. Featuring over 80 paintings, including Jimson Weed (1936), Oriental Poppies (1927), and From the Faraway, Nearby (1937), this exhibition surveys her entire career and highlights her engagement with modernist photography and her trajectory west, opening with the moment of her first showings at the 291 gallery in New York in 1916 and 1917.
Organized by Tate Modern in collaboration with the AGO and the Bank Austria Kunstforum, Vienna, Georgia O'Keeffe will make its only North American stop in Toronto this spring.

Adrian FishDeutsche Demokratische Republik: The Stasi Archives.
The former German Democratic Republic was engaged in an extensive intra-civilian surveillance program seeking to expose and incarcerate suspected class enemies. The archives were housed in the sprawling campus of the Ministry for State Security in the former city of East Berlin, which served as the processing centre and warehouse for the volumes of documentation related to Stasi Activities. The archives are now searchable for citizens of the former GDR who believe their lives were impacted by this systematic surveillance. Fish's photographs document the extant repository of dossiers collected by Stasi officials, in addition to the meeting rooms, offices, and boardrooms preserved after the collapse of the GDR.
