Lanny Shereck: Almost Human....
Phillip Woolf: The Edge of the Woods ... more
Lanny Shereck: Almost Human. Lanny Shereck's exhibition, Almost Human, at Loop Gallery, consists of thirty large painted heads, arranged vertically in totems of three, on alternating backgrounds of red and blue. Each head is animated with a given personality, yet they all share a mechanical-like construct, an "artificial intelligence."
Phillip Woolf: The Edge of the Woods. While remnants, markers, titles, and other associations and evidences signify events in these landscape paintings, it is also the case that they represent nothing of any singular significance at all, and that they are only that which they seem to be – differentiated locations along the side of the road.

Material Nature, an exhibition by CERA, a collective of six artists exploring wax – Dania Al-Obaidi, Anastessia Bettas, Maggie Doswell, Claudia Mandler McKnight, Melissa Tseng, Linda Virio.
The CERA collective explores the material properties and nature of wax; that is, how wax can be transmogrified through hot or cold wax applications, or even replicated through the discerning application of acrylic polymer mediums. In doing so, the material reflects each artist's intent and informs the completed work in unique ways.

Come Closer: Stories in Woodcut and Linocut Print: Pamela Dodds.
Pamela Dodds explores nuanced moments in human relationships; featuring Undertow, an installation of tall, colour relief prints, where figures engage within an impression of water portrayed through the printed rippling patterns of natural wood grain. We would like to acknowledge funding support from the Ontario Arts Council, an agency of the Government of Ontario.
