Vivid Dimensions. This Summer, Odon Wagner Gallery is exhibiting a curated selection of paintings by contemporary gallery artists. The group show explores the realms of the physical and the metaphysical, exemplifying artists' insightful application of materials on their canvas. Viewers are invited to explore the sentimental nature of romanticized landscapes and experiences whether abstracted or not. Bold and colourful paintings stand next to striking hyper-surrealist work through painters John Ballantyne, Michael Burges, Yehouda Chaki, Pierre Coupey, Richard Thomas Davis, Zhang He, Peter Hoffer, Jan Kolata, Bruno Kurz, Ricardo Mazal, Harding Meyer, Malcolm Rains, Willy Ramos, Hans Sieverding and Treacy Ziegler ... more

David Kaufman: THE POSTHUMOUS LANDSCAPE: Jewish Historical Sites in Western Ukraine. Seventy-two years after the Holocaust, western Ukraine is still replete with remnants of Jewish communal life, but the community's history has all but vanished from popular consciousness. Photographer David Kaufman travelled in June 2016 to the cities of Lviv and Chernivtsi, and eighteen surrounding towns, to document the region's abundant Jewish material culture. Kaufman's highly-detailed images depict synagogues, cemeteries, memorials, public spaces and architecture, some functioning, some in a state of ruin. The area's tiny Jewish population struggles today to preserve what it can, with some help from abroad and from local and national agencies.
