Designing Canadian
Aug 8-11 (short week), 9:30am-12noon for ages 5-8; 1:30-4pm for ages 8-12.
$65 members / $75 non-members.

Re-create and design your own Canadian banknotes, postcards, postage stamps and passports! This fun-filled week will look at Canadian history hands-on, while creating some exciting projects to help celebrate Canada 150!

This introductory course will guide participants through colour theory, uses of acrylic applications and creativity. Through six sessions, participants will be introduced to a variety of acrylic styles and concepts – perfect for a beginning painter.

After a presentation by Jan Yates, participants will work outdoors with whatever comes to hand – twigs, leaves, stones, litter, seeds, and flowers – in order to create transitory works of art. Some of the documentation of these works will be featured in Jan Yates' September 2017 exhibition at Grimsby Public Art Gallery. Dress for the weather as participants will be working outdoors, rain or shine. FREE; pre-registration required ... more
