Jul 12-25, 2016 | opening reception Tues 12 Jul, 6-9pm:
NUBARR & PAGINTON: Painting Canada. A selection of oils, acrylics and watercolours by Nubarr and George Paginton, featuring Canadian landscapes, seascapes and impressionistic abstracts. At Art Square Gallery, 334 Dundas Street West, Toronto ON.
Tony Paginton and Shahe Sabag are presenting the works of their fathers, George Paginton (1901-1988) and Noubar Sabag (1920-2006). Both fathers were immigrants from very different backgrounds; one from England and the other an Armenian from Syria. Though the two artists did not know each other, their sons met in Canada and are both immensely proud of what their fathers achieved as lifelong active painters despite their challenging beginnings. After their settlement in their adopted home, Nubarr and George fell in love with the Canadian landscape and spent a lifetime expressing it in their respective styles.
